12/11/2023 0 Comments Forspoken ffxiv![]() Well - slow down, because Sharlayan is technically way farther from Garlemald than Eorzea is, geographically. And heck, maybe we'll finally get a Disciple of Magic as the canon class this time! As much as I want to finally be able to see and explore Ilsabard though, I am really excited at the prospect of a Sharlayan xpac. After all, even if we did go to Sharlayan, I don't think it could fill an entire xpac since the island they're on is so small. Of course, Garlemald/Ilsabard is still very much on the table. The trademarked title (if it is for FFXIV), is also giving me magical/mage vibes with the "to predict or forsee" and "to be bewitched" meanings. We may very well need Sharlayan's help to deal with Hydaelyn or whatever Zenos & Fandaniel are cooking up.Īnd now, after the first 5.4 LL, we know that we'll be meeting up with Matoya again, someone who also has very intimate ties to Sharlayan. Which just so happens to be where Hydaelyn is located. As we learned in Heavensward, Sharlayan has done extensive research on the Aetherial Sea. We're nearing the "final chapter of the tale of this star" aka the Zodiark/Hydaelyn arc. These ties were emphasized in the bit of the 5.3 MSQ where Tataru made Archon Loaf, a classic Sharlayan bread. We just spent an entire xpac forging stronger bonds with the Scions, who all have close ties to Sharlayan-G'raha Tia included. There's also the interesting parallels between the spiral symbol found at the end of Akaedemia Anyder and the spiral shell symbol that Sharlayan bears on its standards. There's the fact that Sharlayan sounds ALOT like a modern-day Amaurot, what with them being a city of mages & scholars, their form of government being a council of elected officials, and their tendency to be isolationist. There's just so much that's been hinting at it in ShB. Ooh, I'm becoming more and more convinced we're going to Sharlayan next xpac. and now that I think about it: I freakin' called the "13 darknesses and 7 lights" thing literally a decade before it became official!!! XD I wish I had kept the file somewhere, because it would have been cool to mess with years later. The intro I wrote was basically the guy walking through the Frozen Sea, viewing lost timelines, noting that Dreamstone was more than just a CT thing (the Dream Rod and Dream Shield were noted to be made of Dreamstone, with hints that it also played a part in Keyblade creation - which, of course, would make the Masamune of a similar nature and power.), and that his goal was to usher in a battle between Light and Darkness to somehow restore the lost timelines, including the timeline that he came from that was lost which he somehow survived it being expunged from the multiverse. They didn't let me actually play with them at the time (typoes and I didn't have a spell check on anything - this was QUITE a while ago), but I remember people complemented my writing and tone. ![]() They needed villains, so I actually created a character from that world. YEARS ago, before KH2 came out, even, I remember being on a KH forum and they were doing an RPG.
